Introduction to Urban Chickens

Interested in raising chickens? Join us in our community space on Saturday, July 7 at 3:30 p.m. for a meet and greet with Chase Hatchery owner Kris Chase (and some of her gorgeous baby chicks). She’ll answer your questions and offer her guidance on every step of the process, shedding light on breeds, temperaments, eggs, hatching chickens, and raising healthy birds. We’ll have locally-made coops, brooders, and other supplies available for purchase so you can leave with everything you need to get started.

Outdoor Cocktails 101

Mushroom and Moss Wreath Making Workshop

The menu includes a Seasonal Old Fashioned or Lavender Gimlet, Whiskey or Vodka Mule, and then a Spiced Hot Toddy. Dutch Oven Popcorn will be served. Participants must be 21+ and show ID. Workshop cost includes supplies and a Barebones Canteen.

Couples Outdoor Cast Iron Cooking Workshop
Friday, October 27, 6-8:30 p.m.
Bring your special someone to Barebones SLC for a romantic evening of outdoor cast iron cooking with Ashley Rodriguez of Not Without Salt. Ashley authored the popular cookbook Date Night In and will instruct on how to cook her favorite meal for the outdoors. The workshop fee includes supplies to make Spiced Cider, Fire pit Fondue with Fire Roasted Vegetables and Sausage, Bread with Whipped Fennel and Honey Butter, Butter Lettuce with Hazelnut Vinaigrette and Herbs, Chocolate Chaud with Spiced Whipped Cream, as well as an 8" Barebones cast iron skillet. The cookbook will be available for purchase and signing during the event.
