This past September, we had the pleasure of attending the CamelBak Pursuit Series in Sanborn County Park, located just 50 miles south of San Francisco. It couldn't feel further from the city—with more than 3,400 acres of trails, lakes, rocks, and meadows, it was the perfect playground for a long weekend of outdoor adventure.
While we were there, we were introduced to Tobias from Juniper Ridge. Juniper Ridge is built on the simple idea that nothing smells better than the forest. We couldn't agree more.
The founder, Hall Newbegin, and his team cultivate native-plant fragrances from areas throughout the American West. Using heritage perfume-making techniques in their Oakland workshop, they distill and extract the fragrance from wildflowers, plants, bark, moss, mushrooms, and tree trimmings that are respectfully harvested on the trail. Through this process, they can capture the scent of the Mojave Desert at sunrise, or the wildflower gardens of Big Sur, or whichever outdoor haven you long to bring home with you.
Juniper Ridge's fragrances come in the form of wilderness perfumes, colognes, essential oils, body wash, soap, and incense. You'll see some of their products available at Barebones soon...Stay tuned!
