Lavender Lift Whiskey Cocktail

· · ·

Lavender is delightful. It has this prettiness to it that feels so kind and honest. These gentle notes are why I’ve come to mix with lavender so much over the past couple of years.

Lavender can surprise you when it joins forces with alcohol. It can be loud, tricky, gentle, uplifting, and confusing. The use of this somewhat minty flower can take you on an unexpected journey.

With this cocktail, I used lavender more subtly, and it’s primarily reflected as the end note. With a mix of boldness from whiskey, creaminess from orgeat, and slight citrus from lemon, lavender brings the earthy, crisp, and gentle conclusion. Fresh lavender and lemon is one of my favorite combinations. Usually, I’d pair the two with gin (which would be a tasty take on this recipe), but I really liked the whiskey depth for this version.

This recipe is a simple mix that looks great and tastes lovely. Though created to be served up, you could adapt the recipe & serve it on the rocks. For a more creative approach, consider serving this lavender whiskey cocktail in a highball glass topped with DRY’s Sparkling Lavender Soda. The lighter feel is ideal when the sun is shining.
