Q: Why 900D Polyester?
A: 900D Polyester is water-resistant, resistant to bacteria, and very durable which makes it ideal for extended use in the outdoors.

Q: How do I care for this?
A: You should never dry clean or machine wash your sheath, but it can be carefully cleaned if you so choose. Brush off the loose dirt, rinse the surface with plain water, gently scrub with a brush, then let air dry. If your stains persist, use a mild bar soap.

Hurry Up Spring

It's winter in Michigan. During this outside downtime I buy things to move me through my midspring to midfall adventures. I am usually in a down state from November 1st to March 15th.
I purchased this Japanese Nata from Barebones for a few reasons. First, I love Japanese garden and kitchen tools. They are versatile and can be implemented as weapons in dire situations, something I hope never happens. Several years ago I bought the Hori Hori from Barebones, and this brings me to my second reason - Barebones has very good quality products. I walk about the land here with my Hori Hori always at my side. I use it to dig up herbs and even use it around my bonfire pit.
Back to the Nata... 14 days ago when I recieved this I was instantly impressed by its quality and how sharp it is right out of the package. I am excited for spring so I can clear a few patches of transitional forest away to plant some corn. Also excited for my fall harvest of a small patch of a specific wheat I am growing as an arbor for my climbing peas, a new trick I learned this winter while researching for my various garden plots. This tool is going to come in handy for that. Even for after my corn harvest (which I'm doing 5 patches using a Native American technique called "Three Sisters" in which corn, pole beans, and a winter squash are all grown together. I already see my "hack and slash" coming into play.
Thankful for Barebones quality products. Again, very impressed by this Nata.
