Folding Shovel

Lightweight, collapsible, and just plain tough. Break up bulky weeds, dig trenches for irrigation, or cover up campfire coals with our newly updated Folding Shovel. Stainless steel 3-position head stays sharp and accurate through hard and soft soil and allows for multiple working positions. Durable beechwood handle fits comfortably in hand and will last through years of use. Designed with an easy twist lock to collapse the head for more compact storage. Great for the backyard or as camping essential.

Included 900D polyester sheath weathers real-world use while protecting shovel blade from dulling.

Our shovel design is inspired by a military entrenching tool, made popular by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s. The Corps was set up to provide jobs for young men during the Great Depression. In its 9-year span, over 3 million people were employed to help with forest management, flood control, and various conservation and natural construction projects. This lightweight, collapsible shovel was easy to carry from site to site and was widely used by the CCC to build many of the national parks, campgrounds, and reservoirs that we enjoy today.

Q: How do I adjust the position of the shovel?
A: The shovel head can pivot to be fully extended, perpendicular, or fold flat with the shaft for storage. To adjust the position of the shovel, loosen the fastening nut by twisting counterclockwise. Once in the desired position, twist the fastening nut clockwise until tightened securely.

Q: How do I properly clean and care for my shovel?
A: Spray off the soil with a hose and wipe clean with a cloth. Sharpen blade as needed.

Q: Why 900D Polyester?
A: 900D polyester is water-resistant, resistant to bacteria, and very durable which makes it ideal for extended use in the outdoors.

Q: How do I care for this?
A: You should never dry clean or machine wash your sheath, but it can be carefully cleaned if you so choose. Brush off the loose dirt, rinse the surface with plain water, gently scrub with a brush, then let air dry. If your stains persist, use a mild bar soap.

Q: Can I store my shovel outside for extended periods of time?
A: The folding shovel is not meant to be stored outside for long periods of time. Extended exposure to wet conditions may cause rust and unnecessary wear and tear. We recommend storing your shovel indoors after use to help it last as long as possible and to avoid the need to purchase a replacement.
