Hori Hori Classic

$30.00 Sale Save

First implemented in Japan, the Hori Hori classic digging tool was originally used for careful and methodical excavating of plants, such as Sansai, in the mountains. Barebones’ unique take on this classic implement was designed with garden work in mind. Its rounded top and serrated sides make it ideal for scooping, digging, and pulling weeds. Equipped with a heat-tempered, hollowback blade, full stainless steel tang, and comfortable walnut handle, the Barebones Hori Hori is the diverse garden tool you can use for a lifetime. Intentionally added twine cutter doubles as a bottle opener, so you can enjoy your choice of refreshing beverage after a hard day's work.

Q: Can I store my garden tools outside for extended periods of time?
A: Garden tools are not meant to be stored outside for long periods of time. Extended exposure to wet conditions may cause rust and unnecessary wear and tear. We recommend storing your garden tools indoors after use to help them last as long as possible and to avoid the need to purchase a replacement.

No 5's until its proven itself...

Purchased the Hori Hori Classic 2 years ago, admired right out of the package, top notch material and craftsmanship. BROKE handle/steel tang in first week! The original design was cheap with steel usage, the tang was approx. 1/4"+ wide and stuffed into a hardwood handle, was not designed for actual use in farmer's field. Came back later and purchased this again last month, was still looking for a replacement, the new hori hori is little too fancy and sleek. The original poor handle design appears to be 100% resolved with no shortcuts, thicker steel, harder edge and a tang that mirrors the handle. While I have not used it yet, I am hard pressed to believe this version will fail the same durability tests.

A gift for my brother this Christmas. He is looking forward to its uses in his large garden. Well packaged, is as described. Plan to purchase for other family members and maybe me too.

The best!

I broke a regular garden trowel after less than an hour of digging weeds and realized I needed something sturdier. I looked at lots of different tools but this one appealed to me the most and it's perfect for what I need! I can dig out some serious roots with this thing, but I also use the serrated edge and little slicer notch a lot. The handle is super sturdy and it looks great.
