Whether you're hosting a Thanksgiving feast or simply looking for a special meal, this duo makes a simple, but filling dinner. Picture this: succulent whole grilled chicken legs, perfectly seasoned, served alongside a luscious and tangy cranberry whiskey sauce.

How to Make
Cranberry Whiskey Sauce

Servings: 3+ | Prep Time: 15 min | Cook Time: ~30 min | Total Time: 45

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cranberries
  • 6 ounces of dark, sweet cherries
  • 1/2 cup High West bourbon
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cinnamon Stick
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Zest from one orange

Materials

  • Enamel saucepan
  • Wooden Spoon

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients except the High West bourbon in an enamel saucepan over medium to low heat. Combine well and allow to reach a low boil.
  2. Turn the heat off when it reaches a runny jam consistency, and add the High West bourbon. Use a Wooden Spoon to stir, then allow to cool.
  3. Serve over chicken legs (recipe below) or pork, lamb, or even use as a syrup in your favorite cocktail.

How to Make
Whole Chicken Legs

Servings: 3 | Prep Time: 10 min | Cook Time: 30 min | Total Time: 40

Ingredients

  • 6 whole chicken Legs
  • Salt and pepper
  • Thyme
  • Olive oil

Materials

  • Cast Iron Skillet
  • Grill Grate

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken legs dry, then generously season with salt, pepper, and thyme on both sides. Drizzle with olive oil and set aside.
  2. Place on a prepared grill or open fire in a cast iron skillet.
  3. Cook on low, starting with skin side down for about 15 minutes; then flip and cook on the other side until internal temperature reads 200 degrees or juices run clear.
