Recipe & Photos by Tory Morrison

This recipe evokes all that classic gooeyness & deep chocolate flavor reminiscent of a campfire s’more. If you are a s’mores fan, you truly have no option but to try it! It’s perfect for chilly mornings, cozy afternoons, or any time you need a little summer nostalgia. We like ours with a splash of whiskey (but you do you).
How to Make
S'mores Coffee
Ingredients
- 32 ounces water
- Freshly ground coffee (enough for 2 cups)
- Marshmallow fluff
- 2 packets of drinking chocolate or hot cocoa mix
- Whipped cream or extra marshmallow fluff for topping
- Materials
- Enamel-lined cast iron teapot
- Enamel mugs
Instructions
- Bring 32 ounces of water to a boil in your teapot.
- While the water is heating, grind enough coffee for two cups. If you’re using pre-ground coffee, measure out the appropriate amount.
- Place the ground coffee into your filter system, whether it’s a pour-over, French press, or another method of brewing.
- Once the water reaches the right temperature (just off the boil), pour it over the coffee grounds in your filter system. Let the coffee steep and extract all those rich flavors. If you’re using a French press, let it steep for about 4 minutes before pressing down the plunger.
- While the coffee is brewing, prepare your mugs by lining them with a generous layer of marshmallow fluff. (That classic s’mores gooeyness.)
- Add a packet of drinking chocolate or hot cocoa mix to each cup. (That deep chocolate flavor reminiscent of a campfire s’more.)
- Once your coffee is ready, pour it directly into the prepared mugs. Stir well to combine the coffee with the marshmallow fluff and drinking chocolate. It should melt together into a creamy, sweet concoction.
- For the finishing touch, top each cup with a dollop of whipped cream or, for extra marshmallowy goodness, more marshmallow fluff. If you want to go all out, you can even torch the marshmallow fluff lightly for that toasted, campfire flavor.
Pro Tips
Customize Your Sweetness: Adjust the amount of marshmallow fluff and hot cocoa mix to your liking for a sweeter or more balanced flavor.
Add a Twist: Sprinkle some crushed graham crackers on top of the whipped cream for an extra nod to classic s’mores.
Add A Little Whiskey: We think it would taste good.
