Q: How long will the battery last?
A: If you have the brightness turned all the way up, it will last right around 3 hours, it you have the lantern set to it's dimmest, it will last 80+ hours.

Q: How often do I need to charge my lantern to keep the battery from dying
A: You should recharge your lantern's battery once every 3-4 months to help maintain the longevity of the battery.

Q: Can I store the Forest Lantern outside for extended periods of time?
A: The Forest Lantern is not meant to be stored outside for long periods of time. Extended exposure to wet conditions may cause rust and unnecessary wear and tear. We recommend storing your Forest Lantern indoors after use to help it last as long as possible and to avoid the need to purchase a replacement.

The Materials

The Forest Lantern is made from only three materials: stamped steel, plastic, and rubber. Durable in nature, they can withstand years of use—from the backyard to the backcountry. Stamped steel protects the interior lighting cover while still keeping the design lightweight and practical.

The Inspiration

Design inspired by nautical, vintage caged lanterns that provided much-needed light when navigating difficult terrain and conditions, both in the forest and at sea. Metal caging protected the delicate, historically glass globe and helped increase functionality. Typically hooked at the top with a rubber bottom, these lanterns could be hung for elevated lighting or placed on surfaces when the user needed both hands for a job.

The Design

We took all the classic components of the vintage caged lantern and added modern functionality and high-quality output. The rechargeable battery, with adjustable brightness, mimics the warmth of a fueled flame on a wick. Durable stamp steel pays homage to the original construction with added protection. Details in the nameplate and charging lights elevate the esthetic and make it an iconic piece in the Barebones lighting collection. Use it to navigate your own difficult terrain or simply illuminate a card game in the backyard; this light is meant for all to enjoy.

    Replaced Lantern

    Last lantern had a short in it. Received the new lantern via customer service. The Barebones customer service is incredible and their shipment to me was very quick. I love this lantern. It’s so cool looking and the fact that it’s rechargeable is so functional. I highly recommend this product and this company.

    Love this lantern

    This is for beside an extra kids bed in our beach house. It is perfect as the room is themed like a camp out. The size of this lovely lantern is substantial. It is plenty heavy duty and well built. The light given off is perfect since it is adjustable from low to high, and the high setting gives off plenty of light for anything and the low is the perfect night light! I got my money's worth.
