FAQ

Q: Is a battery included with purchase?
A: Yes, the battery is individually wrapped in your box.

Q: Should I remove the plastic covering on the included battery?
A: No. The plastic covering is a safety mechanism. Do not remove the plastic battery cover before inserting the battery into the railroad lantern.

Q: How do I install the battery?
A: For optimal performance charge battery fully before use.

Step 1: Turn the lower housing counterclockwise to unlock and expose the battery slot.
Step 2: Hold the lantern upside down and insert the battery top down into the battery slot. The top of the battery is marked with a "+" icon.
Step 3: Reattach the lower housing by pressing down, and turning clockwise until it locks.

Q: Can I store the Railroad Lantern outside for extended periods of time?
A: The Railroad Lantern is not meant to be stored outside for long periods of time. Extended exposure to wet conditions may cause rust and unnecessary wear and tear. We recommend storing your lantern indoors after use to help it last as long as possible and to avoid the need to purchase a replacement.

Love the lantern!
I put my lantern on a side table next to an Adirondack chair in front of our house. It is very welcoming and super cute! Convenient charging to power and I bought the felt storage bags to store it in which is high quality. It’s a win win, you won’t be disappointed.

Great Customer Service!
I bought 2 of Railroad lanterns late in December in 2023…decided to use these for the first time on the 4th of July..2024…. I was very impressed with the looks and design of these lanterns….however upon getting them ready to use..one of them would not turn off…the light did dim but it would stay on. I contacted Barebones and they sent me a new one…what can you say about that!!!…. Great company and they have some great items…. Love all of the canvas bags and tools..

Really nice lantern!
Build quality is very good, and the ability to recharge the light without removing the battery is a nice thought. Along with that, the battery charge level is always visible so you know when to “fuel-up”.
