Moss & Mushroom Wreath Workshop

Moss & Mushroom Wreath Workshop

An afternoon spent with Jenevieve Hubbard of Wild Flora learning to make beautiful wreaths with foraged and locally sourced materials in our Salt Lake City-based retail location is certainly not a poor way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Jenevieve led us step-by-step through how to create a moss-covered wreath that can adorn our homes for months to come. Earthy and just a little bit rugged, with bits of shelf mushrooms, pinecones, and other forest-found materials scattered about made for a lovely addition for us all to bring into our homes.

We wrapped moss around straw wreaths, securing as we went with greening pins, before pinning in dried shelf mushrooms. Much like she advised in our Foraged Floral Centerpieces workshop earlier in the season, Jenevieve guided us that less is always more and to take a step back and really look at your work rather than absentmindedly plucking along - advice we intend to apply to many facets of our lives.

We can hardly think of a better way to bring a bit of the wilderness into our holiday decorations.
